I have tried SO MANY ways of keeping tension on the sides of my slate frame (short of sewing the linen, because I am lazy) and this system is the absolute BEST! Very easy to take on and off, does not damage the linen, and keeps the tension drum tight. I love it so much, I purchased a set for my mother (who is the person who taught me embroidery).
